This is a topic that I think is really interesting. Technology as a whole has always been fascinating to me. Since the beginning of time, we as humans have made incredible strides of advancement. From drawings in caves and now Facebook live video to share a message, the world will continue to evolve in ways never before imagined. I find it amazing that as soon as I finish this article, I will be able to share it with the entire world in less than a minute. I can see feedback as soon as someone reads it. No more waiting for a response. In todays world, everything is instantaneous.

We live in a world where everything is dependent on technology. Is that a bad thing? That really depends on our ability to adapt to changes in the world. If we were without tech, could we survive. Technology makes our lives easier and most importantly, it saves us time. Time is our most valuable asset. It is the one asset that is limited and once you use it you can never get it back. The old saying that time is money is true, but I think time is an even greater asset than money. Money can always be earned, but once you’ve lost time, that’s it. Ultimately, technology allows us to use our time more efficiently.

Can technology make us lazy? I don’t think you can really blame the tech itself. We are who we are and self awareness is key to knowing what to do with your life. If you are sitting around binge watching Netflix everyday, that’s on you. There was a time where Netflix didn’t exist, and to say people weren’t lazy before is laughable. People were just wasting time doing other things. There are those who do and there are those who don’t. If you’re a doer, then technology can be your best friend.

Some might argue that technology has made it increasingly harder to focus with all the distractions and noise it presents. Getting Facebook notifications at work and then you find yourself scrolling through your news feed for 10 minutes. Again, who’s fault it that? But honestly, if your Facebook news feed is more interesting than your job, maybe you should find a new one. The whole self awareness notion, do you know who you are and what you should be doing. Are you doing something that utilizes your skills and centers on your passion. All the time that technology can save you means nothing if you are not happy.

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” – Steve Jobs

Advancements in the tech world have allowed for new opportunities in every industry. The old saying, “work smarter, not harder.” The truth is, we are working just as hard, if not, harder than before. Except now, we are able to accomplish so much more in a fraction of the time. The opportunities to be lazy and enjoy entertainment all day have increased. But at the end of the day, it comes down to you. There has never been a better time to achieve success living your passion. Now stop making excuses.
